Learn Scottish Country Dancing with Cheryl Durnin’s dance notes.
About Cheryl
I started Scottish Country Dancing in 1980 after watching a demonstration by the local Winnipeg branch. In 1985 I earned my preliminary teaching certificate with Christine Wallace, and in 1989 gained my full teaching certificate with Robin Lynch. Over the years in Winnipeg, I have taught at all levels from beginner, intermediate, and advanced to social, children’s, and ladies’ step classes. I have had the honour of teaching at workshops across Canada, including in St. John’s, Dryden, Kenora, Regina, Medicine Hat, Calgary, Edmonton, and Yellowknife.
Dancing is a family affair. My husband Doug and daughters Ainslie and Susan, have all enjoyed dancing together for nearly forty years, including demonstrations with a performance group in Winnipeg. Outside of dancing, I am a retired nurse and I enjoy gardening and golfing during the summer months, and curling in the winter.
